FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Building your website on the WordPress platform has many advantages. It allows for additional features on your website such as eCommerce and social media integrations. It is also great for clients who want to be able to edit parts of their website themselves. However, WordPress is regularly being updated and so cannot be ignored, at risk of your website being hacked.

In the way you would maintain your own garden with regular maintenance and upkeep, the same goes for websites. Regular maintenance and updates helps to make sure that your website is running smoothly and is less vulnerable to attack from hackers who are looking for ways to gain access to your site.

With a WordPress website, the speed of performance and reliability of the site all depend on the software and any plugins that are installed to be working correctly. All of these things need to be updated regularly.

If you are adding your own content on a frequent basis, this is excellent because of course it helps your search engine rankings. It is however important for someone to be keeping an eye on the site to make sure none of the updates has caused an issue.

Our care plan packages give you both security and peace of mind, knowing that your site is being kept safe and well looked after. We keep regular backups of your website incase the worst should happen. We make sure that your website performs optimally when your customers are viewing the site. To put it simply, we keep your site running smoothly so you don’t have to.

We understand the importance of maintaining your WordPress website. We have experience in building and managing WordPress websites for many of our clients and have the expertise to keep your site working correctly. When we take on a new website project, we audit the site for security issues, ensure that the site is up to date, install additional security and backup procedures and monitor your site to keep it working at its very best.

For most small business clients, we would typically recommend our “Business” package. This includes everything you need to keep your site functioning at its best. For larger companies or individuals who have a more demanding website, we recommend our “Premier” package. This includes additional enhancements, such as a content delivery network to speed up your website even further, and competitor analysis to find out what your competition are ranking for and help you understand what you could be missing out on.

We offer advice and support to our clients regarding all aspects of their website. This can include advice on the best plugins to use in order to add new functionality to their website or advice on integrating their sites with different payment providers.

We provide you with reports into the performance of your website and will liaise with you to ensure that the site is bringing in the customers you are looking for.

We care about how your business looks online and are here to help you succeed.

Like a lawyer’s retainer, the monthly time is there for you every month. This ensures you a place in our queue and our resources, however, it does not rollover for any of our plans. You can take comfort in the fact that what you request within that 30/180 minutes of time (depending on your plan) will be addressed by our team with immediate attention.

If you have a task that requires more than your dedicated monthly time, we will submit a quote for you to approve separately from your plan. However, with your approval if your jobs exceed your included time, we are happy to work with you and bill you for the additional hours at our current support rate of £60/hr.

Absolutely. We are all about relationships with you and your website, so we would hate to see you go but we know financial needs weigh on many decisions and don’t want to lock anyone in. You can request a cancellation at any time via email to our support team  – all we require is 30 days notice.

Although these plans are for sites we build or re-design, we welcome clients who have websites not built by ourselves and are looking for a long term relationship.

For websites that we have not built, we charge a one off care plan audit fee of £250. This includes analysing your current website for any inherent issues that may already be present.

If problems are found you’ll receive the first two hours of any remedial work required to get the site back up to scratch and performing how it should before we can accept it on to one of our plans

It is possible for you to install your own WordPress updates via your admin screen. The problem though is that if an update to a plugin caused an issue it might not manifest itself as a fault until some weeks later.

At this point, how would you know which update had caused the problem? You might end up have to restore to an older backup – which could in turn mean losing a lot of data and updates that had been added in recent times.

If a big issue arises, how much would it cost for you to pay someone experienced to come in and fix it? It could easily be a lot more than you would ever pay out on a regular care plan.

Content update requests and small design improvements are amongst the most common tasks that we cover, so any job that can fit into 30 minutes is included in the dedicated support time. However, requests for new features to your website will likely result in a formal quote as these tend to go over the monthly dedicated time.
